So what's the best way to take apart side glass windows, vents, door locks, etc? Because this is an area that's hard to see what you're doing or looking at, I don't want to find myself scratching my head when it comes time to reassemble. 71 Scamp.

The factory manuals appear they would be a great help, except for the fact that I can't find the correct section for my style car! No 2 door hardtop with vents listed or shown in the figures. Same with the quarter panel side glass. Valiant section is really just for the Duster. And even in the other sections, the figures show some balloon item numbers, but where are the lists that correspond to these? It would help to know since they have specific part names for the parts in these side glass assemblies.

Thanks! Any input is appreciated here.

The vent assembly has to be removed before you can address the side glass. Probably easier to drop regulator when removing side glass.
Just make sure you locate all fasteners when removing the parts. You may have to spread the door slightly at the top as the vent assem.
may hang up on the window felts when removing.

Thank you for your suggestions. I tried looking into removing vent glass separate from window, but it ended up being removed together. Because the car isn't going back together any time soon, I wrote up instructions with photos to help me when it comes time to re-install. I did it in MS word and have a pdf file of it if anyone is interested.

On to the quarter windows...which I hear are the tougher part...
