Dropped a 340 in my '68 cuda and couldn't resist puting the six-pack on top. Problem is the air cleaner base, it won't sit flush on the back carb, about an inch in the air, and it hits the windshield motor. My understanding is the base carb spacing is the same for small and big block? My base doesn't look like it is tweaked, an ebay special. Don't want to buy a new base if it doesn't solve the clearance problem. I know the six-pack wasn't available till '69. Appreciate the help.

I have a 69 six pack set up on my 440 in my 69 383-S fastback. The air cleaner base just touches the side of the windshield wiper motor. The engine is in the stock location with the factory motor mounts.

If there's a gap between any carb flange and the base, you got a bent base...
