Would someone with a 64 Dart take the time to measure the length and width of their back-up lights. They look like they might work for a project I'm considering for my 65 Dart wagon.

I've got a '63 Dart, pretty sure the backup lights are the same size.

I'm assuming you wanted the lense size. These are without the bezel.

Width: About 6 5/8"
Height: About 1 3/8"

These are with the bezel.

Width: About 7 3/16"
Height: About 1 3/4"

Thanks for the info. I don't ever recall seeing the rear end of a 63 Dart so was going by a recent thread on a 64 Dart. Those b/u lights look like they might work for a custom rear end light project I'm thinking about for my 65 Dart wagon.

here are measurements taken off my 64...slightly different than the 63 maybe??

outside dimensions on bezel
width - 8"
height - 2.5"

the hole cut for them in the trunk lid measures:
height - 3.75"
width - 1.75"
the mounting holes are .5" from the hole right and left side centered vertically, 4.75" center to center

hope to see some pics of this project!!!

I can't tell from the photo but are the lights attached to that decorative strip? If the bezels/lights are separate, then I don't see why either the 63 or 64 wouldn't work for what I have in mind

hope to see some pics of this project!!!

Definitely pics will be taken. Here's an overview of what I'd like to accomplish: I frequently visit MoparMarket.com (Aussie forum) and while looking at some of their wagons and utes thought about using their Aussie-specific taillights instead of the 65 Dart wagon units. They actually have 2 different styles - the Aussie units and the "Canadian" style (which are just like our 65 Valiant wagon taillights). So to get started I kept looking on their eBay for set of Aussie lights and when a set came up, bid on, won them and now have them in my possession. So now I need lenses which is not a problem since PP&R carries them. For their turn signal lenses they offer a clear and an amber lens. To be different (and be safer as well), I thought about using the amber lenses for the turn signals but I still want back up lights. So when I saw the 64 lights I thought they could be mounted down near the bumper. I'd like to find either a junk 63 or 64 B/U light assembly for mock-up purposes since everything is in the planning stage right now but that's the gist of what I'd like to accomplish.

Thanks for that photo. Guess I'll be looking for a crappy B/U light assembly for mock-up purposes.

Hello: There are 10 Valaint's and 9 Dart's listed for 1964. This comes from the 1964 Passenger car parts catalog. Series V 1964. Both of the pictures listed are Not 1964 Molding. I think 1963-1965 used the same Back-up Lights.Send me e-mail With your numbers (my convertible list as a VL1-2(H). A GT convertible list as a VL1-2(P) Molding is different on the two models. I have Valiant's they all list with a VV1-2( ) Letter states what version you have and the molding attached. My catalog list all,Plymouths,Valiants,Dodges,Darts,880's,Chrysler's,Imperial's. The Catalog does not LIE, its what is (IS).

Two available. If I had money, I'd get it simply for the part that holds the lightbulb. For some reason, both of mine are missing.

I ended up buying the pair this guy had for sale. Gave me a great price on combined shipping as well. Still need to buy the Aussie lenses for my taillights from PP&R. Will do that after we get back from the Netherlands week after next (oldest son is getting married). With a side trip to London and Paris it should be a nice vacation.
