Hey guys so, i pulled apart the dart to replace the cracked exhaust manifold, and while in there the carb on it is a holley, and has a rather large rubber hose on the top, i believe it to be a fuel return line, (no vacuum) well this is just hanging off the top of the engine right over intake/exhaust manifold, which cant be good should she ever decide to burp, can i just extend it out of harms way? or just block it off? this carb has been on the car since atleast the 80's it is a single barrel Thanks!

A photo would help.....Is it a Holley 1920? 1945? If the fitting in question is the bowl vent for the charcoal canister and your car doesn't have a charcoal canister, you should be able to plug it. If it's some oddball model, it might need the vent open so it doesn't develope a partial vacuum in the float bowl. Sounds like it has a rubber plug in it now and has been running ok for many years now? If so, keep it plugged like it is.
