Slant 6 identification help.

I'm not sure, but the 1381 may be the date it was cast - in the Mopar 10,000 day calendar.

1381 would be Day 1381 - Sunday, May 9, 1965

Early blocks (incl. 1965) will have 3 staggered core plugs. Later ones have 5 in a row. Search for a post in the last month or so asking the same. I posted a table from slantsix.org w/ block casting #'s, but it has gaps and SlantSixDan chimed in saying, "rife with errors". I recall there was only one block PN of 225 cu in with 3 core plugs. But, until somebody runs across a musty factory catalog, some of this historical info may be incomplete.

You know the guys back East are drooling seeing that rust-free engine from the Mojave Desert.

Right on, and that 1381 may be 138th day of '71, which may mean May 18th, 1971 casting date.

Search this forum for threads on this, but your eng. would be a 5-
core hole casting,large-hub, post '69........ May 9th,18th,31st,...?? Lol.
My math may not always be perfect, but thats like a 2200 day spread,
.... so yea.
