65 Barracuda, you can swap the cam without pulling the motor. You do need to remove the radiator and the right bumper mount (and loosen the left) and both motor mounts. Lay the motor pan rail on the K with no motor mounts and pull cam out until it hits the lower bumper lip. Then determine how far you have to raise the bumper to clear the camshaft. I had to raise mine about 1/4 inch only so I just removed the passenger side carriage bolts. Alot easier than removing the mounts like I originally did, duh! And this cam was trashed! All the lifters were varnish stuck in the bores, and when I got them out, they were all concaved on the face. Heavy wear. Then when the cam came out, I saw why: The pics of the lobes show the bad shape of the base circle (could be because the lash was off and this is just coked oil, but no, its worn down) and when I mic'd the lobes they were all over the place: the lobes were from 1.666 to 1.646 on the noses and from 1.420 to 1.405. The effective lift was from .391" all the way down to .348 and everywhere between. Car ran fine though...

Cool,When there is a will there is a way.
Are going to get it reground.

Cam journals look good.
You got room even to pull and install new bearings.

No, a good Comp Cams 264/.440 lift is the replacement. stock one may be good core I suppose for a turbo grind if it can take it. Journals look fine. The worn one was the 55 year old stocker.

Nice work! Are you aware those Comp Cams for the slant are REAL bad about the drive gear stripping out?
