Small Block Oil Filter Plate Connector

Does anyone know the socket size to remove the oil filter plate connector? I am tryin to pull it off while reach around my headers and I do not feel as though my one-inch socket is fitting on it. I cannot get a good feel when trying to fit it and cannot see it. Am I using the wrong socket size?

I think you need either an 1 1/16 or 1 1/8" socket for the adapter bolt.

you talking the nipple or the bolt head on the outside of the 90? IIRC the nipple is a 1" and use a box end as they are in there tight sometimes. If the last guy uses an open end he may have rounded it and your 1" socket isnt seating properly, may have to tap it on with a hammer.

I don’t have the 90-degree adapter, just the connector with the narrow hex head in the middle of the threads. Thank you for the responses.
