Just wondering what everyone is using for plugs these days. I currently have NGK GR4's in and they seem pretty good. I'm in the process of replacing my ignition system with a Pertronix look alike distributor with the Igniter 3 module, flame thrower 3 coil and wires and going to replace the plugs so I'm just wondering what else is everyone using. Hate running Japanese parts in my car. Way back in the day when I had my 69 340 swinger I did run AC Delco R44XLS, and either Autolite or Motorcraft not sure which one but they ran pretty good also. Champion are pure garbage wouldn't put them in my lawnmower.

You really can't go wrong with NGK, and replacing doesn't have to mean changing.
Literally decades of experience with every plug you can imagine and NGK has always been solid.
 
I quit using Champion plugs over 40 years ago. Autolites for me but I did just buy a bunch of NGK plugs for my nitrous 572 as I heard they were the go to plug for nitrous
 
Just do yourself a favor and choose by application and not by conversion. I converted a Champion number to Autolite and got a heat range colder. I chased a low rpm miss for a long time before I put some warmer Champs back in. All has been well for years now.
 
I always used Autolite 65s. Then, about three years ago, Rock Auto had the Autolite 65 Double Platinum for about $0.45 after sale and rebate. I'd heard platinum plugs could effectively extend the heat range. While I don't know if that's true, I figured anything that cheap that might help my old Prestolite dual point was worth a try. I can't say it runs any better, which was fine to begin with. I pulled a couple this year to inspect, and they looked perfect.
 
I ran whatever. But 2x i have seen champion plugs let go. Centre electrode would slip and ground out.
Remove plug, turn upside down and it looks fine. Ya right,porcelain up and bump plug on bench and gap is closed.
Never had issues with ngk (no good kind) to some.
Snowmobilers have always leaned towards ngk’s.
 
NGK's have been all over the motor sports world for a long time.

NGK is the official supplier of over half the teams in Formula 1... and FWIW I'd rather have Japanese parts on my Mopar than Chinese junk ANY day of the week!

FYI Autolite is now owned by FRAM (!!!!) and Champion has been owned by Federal-Mogul for a couple decades now, highly doubt anything either of those companies sell is Made in USA if that's what you're after...
 
I've ran RN12YC Champions in all my LA small blocks for over 30 years, never an issue. And, your Mopar came with Champions....
 
NGK is what I use, I find they burn cleaner and don't low speed foul #7 and #8 with the single plane I'm using.
Champions and Autolite had a tendency to foul.
 
I've been using NGK's for about 25 yrs. with great success. One time about 4 or 5 yrs. ago when I did my spring tune up they were out of NGK's at the parts store so I tried a set of Champions and they were misfiring within 1000 miles. Ordered some NGK's and installed them and no more problems
