Small hesitation

In first gear warmed up good if I hit it to hard it hits a hesitation bad enough that it feels like it died and probably would if I lift my foot, but it grabs good if I stay on the gas with realy good power, is this a vacuum advance thing or points maybe? Oh ya sorry it's a stock 1970 single barrel 225 slant six, hoses are in their proper spots and seem to be working well, the timing has been set to 5 past TDC and valves adjusted to spec.

Sorry about that maybe the added info to the initial thread can get me some answers.

im still going to say its the pump shot. take the air cleaner off with the engine off. look down the carb throat, you should see an immediate shot of fuel when you crack the throttle open by hand.
