Smoothing out the ride - Solved

-
Well, if you have a multi leaf setup there's a possibility you could remove a leaf.

i have bilstiens and they are far from bouncy, the best shocks i have ever owned

.. the rear shackles tighten to their steel stops before there is any bind
on the spring or rubber.

They should do that, yes. But that's not always what happens, and binding at the shackles would explain some of the symptoms described. Maybe that's not what's going on but it's worth checking.

isolate the problem

to test.....
a) unbolt the bottom of the shock, remove from shock mount and let hang
b) bounce on rear.....is it bouncy or stiff?

if it is bouncy, your issue is shocks
if it is still stiff, your issue is perhaps in the leaf spring and /or installation

Problem SOLVED!
I loosened up the rear shackles - I had them tighter than hell....

100% better! Night and day difference.

Thank you for all the suggestions

Jeff
