I, too saw the movie. Liked it a lot. Anybody who is a fan of drag racing will like it. Anybody who is a student of drag racing history knows most of the story and will dig on all the old restored/recreated race used in filming.
I was at Indy in '78 and saw that final round race between them. It was not common knowledge at the time about how much it meant to McEwen to beat Prudhomme after what happened with his son. All I remember was the crowd going wild and how excited McEwen's crew guys were when they headed off down the return road to pick him up.
I hope the movie comes out on DVD because I want a copy.
