Just picked up a 72 Mopar snorkel hood scoop for my Demon.

Took it over to a corvette shop to have a few blemishes filled and just asked them to make it ready for paint. Figured they'd have the know how with the fiberglass repair. Didn't want to screw it up.

My question is regarding the black color. :color: Is there a color code for these? Would like it to look as original as possible.

I spent awhile looking :read2:in the tech section for this answer, but couln't find any info. Although, I could have missed it. I'm still kind of a :newb:.

Thanks

If I can make a suggestion? A friend of mind had a color sceam close to yours and did the scoop the same color as the strip and it looked really good...

Thanks KSP

Have never seen one with a yellow scoop. Sounds pretty wild looking. :glasses7: You wouldn't have a pic by any chance?

Still interested in original black paint code if anyone has this info.

It's called organosol. My spelling may be wrong but that is what it is. Most of the paint manufacturers have a cross reference for it. I know PPG does.

Thank you Jack.

Did a FABO search for "organisol" from your suggestion and came up with some really good reading.

Seems like the jury is out on whether to use that or "hot rod black" with "flat clear coat".

Living here in Arizona, the sun is a big factor which several members mentioned could be a problem with the organisol. I'll keep :study:

Appreciate the tip.

Sorry, Wish I Did! Have not seen him or his Demon in years...
