So now the Fram HP filters are Chinese? Geez....

-
I use Fram oil, gas and air filters on my daily driver 1996 GMC Sonoma, has 244,000 miles on it, prior to that used Fram oil, gas and air filters on the 1989 Chev Beretta that had over 275,000 miles on it when I traded it for the '96 Sonoma. That is over 1/2 million miles with no filter issues. Add to that:
wifes 1998 Olds Intregue, 175,000 miles
wifes 2011 Nissan Altima, 102,000 miles
my 1983 D150, 40,000 miles
with zero issues.
maybe all you guys are just unlucky, or maybe you listen to too much internet fluff.

Also considering today's products,
* Today you can buy a large screen TV, 65 inches + for less than 600.00 and that TV was likely made in China, the ones I buy have no reliability issues
** Today, all cell phones you buy today has content from China, anyone with cell phone hardware issues?
*** Today, the US cars that are actually built in the USA have decent quality levels, if it was not for world wide competition, we would be driving US built cars with the quality levels of the Vegas, Pintos and Aspens of the mid 70's. And it is not only the Corportate bean counters that had to wake up, the rank and file UAW workers had to also wake up and hear the music. World competition had made the marketplace better for all consumers.
Or maybe we have personal experience with Fram oil filters causing failure.

I have, and will never use them again. I used to think they were great, until multiple failures for various reasons across 4 different vehicles...all because of defective oil filters from Fram.

Failed seals, zero oil pressure from an upside down bypass gasket, cracked housing and poorly made threads that buggered the install....twice.

They aren’t ever getting another chance from me.

Maybe you have just been lucky.

How many parts are counterfeit?

I bought a few fram gas filters for a honda civic I was getting running this year.

The only place that had them was Amazon, one may have been a real Fram, the others I got from the same vendor was an obvious fake. Looked something like the real part.
The vendor went as far as to say the original boxes deteriorated on the shelf, one came in the box, the other two were loose. Total BS from the vendor.

Ask me how I feel about chinkeese crap. 3 days old, almost burned down my house.

What aint made in China anymore? I went to Fry's to get a capacitor for a project. This is like a Walmart sized store with 40 cash registers and nothing but electronics: parts, computers, appliances, etc. If it plugs in the house, they probably got it. Anyway, there were aisles of bare shelves. I asked a clerk WTF? He said due to new tarrifs on Chinese products all the contracts with suppliers had to be renegotiated. so pretty much everything in that place comes from China. Place was spooky empty.

Holy crap!! I used to go to Frys all the time for electronics. Never saw shelves like this

Cardone? we went through 3 racks for our 2010 Challenger build. Pulled the trigger and bought a Mopar one (and done)
Cardone is and was garbage. Had my own auto repair shop and got burned by them a couple of times. Never used them again. OEM or anything but cardone
