Did you find the pliers you were looking for? I just today got a pair I bought off th'Bay. Turns out KD changed the design. I used to have an "old" pair, now they are stamped

wow ....that's not a bad price there on your screen.

I didn't buy my own yet and I ended up borrowing a pair from a local guy with a smile.....but I really don't like doing that. #-o

I am going against my own policy of no borrowing or lending tools so I really need to get my own but a case of laziness and a lot of spacing it out. :evil3:

I am going to go on a campaign this summer to break down transmissions because I have an enormous pile of them and I need to start cleaning the yard out. :???:

Well LOL now you have the part no. I'm sure those are what "I used to have" that is the old style. Somewhere along the way, KD changed the design. A wild guess these are about 10" long

Seems like I have a pair of those.
Now I've got to go look.

Makes me wonder how many times of taking the lock ring off of an output shaft bearing it would take to cave those stamped ones.
Or the lock ring off a 4 speed input shaft.

Those are the toughest rings I can think of at the moment, that are real common.

I have the old solid ones in a couple of different styles.
(Snap on's) because no one else made good solid ones that I could find.

Armstrong tools makes some of the best snap ring sets I have used

Took me for ever to find a pair of them when I was doing a transmission. Finally found a new pair on e-bay. found a pair of the older style a 2 weeks later in my dads tool box.
Should have went there first
