this is a vary clean signet. the 273 was gone when i found this car, original trans was shot. in the 1 1/2 years i have had it i cleared the engine bay striped primed and painted the engine bay. while the engine was out we tore it down, replaced timing chain with edelbrock true roller. replaced oil pump with melling unit. replaced all freeze plugs with high quality brass pieces. full fel-pro gasket set used when assembling the 360. i also added a brand new mp electronic ignition conversion, new blaster 2, real nice edelbrock ld340, rebuilt carter afb comp series, new 8 blade water pump, new fuel pump, new power master high torque mini starter, got a fresh 904 lock up from another member here. engine runs great, trans shifts real nice.
interior is new! dash cluster still needs done. have nos radio/heater bezel.
paint is ok, looks great from 20 feet. has chips and nicks.
wheels are vintage shelby cal 500 slot mags, 14x7, 14x9. new tires
the bad:
still needs front end suspention done, car is registered in cali. i drive it locally often. but it gets scary at high speeds(ball joints and bushings) front pass frame rail is dented from bumper bracket. fine where cross member is.
guages dont work, voltage does work, temp comes on off when it chooses. speedo has new cable but needle just bounces.
trans pan leaks a little on the headers when its parked in the street, so it stinks while warming up.
drivers side exhaust bracket broke the other day, so its hanging by the header only.
my reason for selling this project before i finish it is that i hoped to be back to work by now when i bought it. since then my boss fired me because i am disabled, so i have no idea when i will be allowed to work again. they put me on permanent disability recently so it does not look good. i have other projects that need more work than this one so selling this one will save 2 more. pm me here if interested. located in long beach ca.
