Solved: Transmission shifting late and downshifting early

I have never worked on A/T much, just something I never learned to do. I need some help. I recently changed the filter and fluid but it did not fix the problem. I read all the troubleshooting steps but, I don't know what the most likely cause may be. My 318 with a 904 shifts late. The manual says 1-2 at 10-15 mph and 2-3 at 17-23 with down shift at 7-10 mph. Mine is 1-2 at 20mph, 2-3 at 42 mph and downshift at 35 mph. I'm not sure where to start looking. Craig

I'm thinkin the kick down rod needs to be adjusted foreward just slightly , making the rod shorter

Yup, start by shortening up the kickdown linkage and see if that helps.

Does it feel weird when it does this or are you just comparing it to what the manual says.

Yeah, start by shortening; use your seat of pants feel. Medium throttle, maybe 20 and 35. Full, 40 and 70.
