Hi All: I posted a wheel question about a month ago on this forum. I was trying to determine whether or not the spare tire steel wheel that came with my 1974 Duster is the factory original. If you recall, my car still has its factory original Rallye wheels. The spare tire for Rallye wheel cars was always a standard black rim, not on a fifth Rallye wheel. My spare tire wheel has the following markings on the inside of the rim:
Kelsey Canada M AL 14x5.5JJ
Nobody could tell me what these markings meant, so I searched over the wheel today and found the following:
Near the valve stem hole: K2-3 8 (valve stem hole) 1 7 (pentastar)
Near the outer side bolt holes: K2 (with the number 3 directly beneath the K2) 8 A
Photos are attached below. Ideas anyone? My car is a St. Louis built 1974 Duster built in October of 1973.
Thanks, everyone!

The more I look the more that makes sense.

K2-3
&
K2
3

K = Kelsey manufacturing
2 = plant 2

3 = year 1973 (67 and older did not have external date markings so must be 1973 not 1963)

8 (valve stem hole) 17

8 = August

17 is the 17th

Thanks, Dana. That's the best explanation yet. I appreciate it!

Thanks, Dana. Any ideas about the meaning of the letter "A" to the right of the wheel stud hole in the second photo above?
no. PURE guesses....

based on this maybe it is an "A" wheel? I don't know what an "H" wheel is in B,E body speak
