okay, upper ball joints and lower ball joints, upper bushing lower bushings strut rod bushings. the problem is when i grab the brake assembly and turn it left to right it is very stiff also and the upper control arm wants to move up and down abit and the lower arm moves back and forth a little. this is with tension on the t-bar when i remove all tension on the t-bar everything stays put and the brake assembly moves freely left to right. whats causing this binding???. the right side is fine. i hope someone has any clues to this!

Snake, has your car been into front end shop?Since you replaced the upper and lower control arms? Are they set and tightened? You have to let us know if it,s had alignment since changes? If not your front will be outta whack!

Ya lol.No it has knot been in for alignment yet but the passenger side is fine. everything is tight and i have front bushing all the way forward and rear as far back as i can.Lost at this point

The later crossmembers with spool mounts had some breaking problems. The tube that is welded into the K-member that receives the stud from the front of the lower control has been known to break. I haven`t heard about the problem on cars with sandwich mounts (like yours) but it is something to look for. I would suggest taking it to a good front end guy that`s familiar with these old Mopars and let them check it out.

Get it aligned with a four wheel Hunter alignment machine and take it from there. Shop around for a good mechanic that you can tell exactly what you just told us. If there is a problem he will find it and tell you if it will or will not hold alignment. I bet it just needs to be aligned.

I would recommend asking about setting your front end to handle better. If the guy really knows his stuff he can tweak it a bit and it will ride and handle better. Other than just setting it at stock settings.

Well i do have a mechinac coming over tuesday night but was hopping to fix it myself.Like I said grabing the lower controll arm even with the tie rod not hook up it is hard to turn left to right.right side not hard to turn it.

Have you checked the lower control arm pivot mount? if it is moving front to back it sounds like something is loose. you say with the load off the torsion bars it moves freely, that would lead me to re-check the lower control arm. when the bars are tensioned then that is the only thing that is "loaded". check the gap between the frame mount to the lower arm drivers side and passenger side to make sure it is not kicked to one side. also basic stuff like is the ball joint taking in grease.

It is taking grease the ball joint. When I slide the t bar out of the controll arm and undo the nut on the pivot shaft I can move the end were the t bar goes in all over like its loose me thinks thats normal? were the pivot shaft goes into the k frame were they crack, there has been a repair there looks fine.Any thing to look at.the lower arm has had a new bushing could the lower arm be bad.

That is what I was referring to in my post. It sounds like the piece inside the K member that holds the pivot shaft is broken loose. If you can see that the play is not in the bushing but in the area where the shaft goes through the K member, then the the K member probably is broken. Can you post some pictures of what you`ve got?

Pics of every angle will definetly help,it,s hard to diagnose problems without seeing or being there. So post some pics.?

Thanks for the help when the pivot bolt is tighten up and there is tension to the t bar i can grab the bar and nothing moves its tight there.Cant post pics now waiting on a new camera.Thanks.My mechinac took a look last night said all looks ok going to have to waite for alinement to see .
