Could be trash but a similar thing happened to me. Very, very clean assembly and a couple of rings left small marks. Not quite that bad (like maybe one or two per cylinder) but the rings had tiny burs I could see with my readers on. Ended up carefully running a purple Scotch Brite pads along the ring edge and took care of it. Not enough to catch a fingernail on the cylinder wall in my case so I used a Scotch Brite white cleansing pad and some WD40 to wipe the mark off the wall before putting it back together. Motor has been running for about a year now with no issues. Whatever you do, if you use any abrasive, make sure the ring is off the piston and clean it thoroughly before reassembly. If you can catch a fingernail on the scratches in the cylinder you'll likely need to at bare minimum run a dingle hone through the cylinder or you can try some grey scotch brite and WD40. The more perfect you can make it, the better, but I will tell you I've taken apart motors with worse marks that had good compression and didn't burn any oil. Good luck!
