Spark plug drool tubes gaskets replacement

Hi all,

As my 198ci has drool tubes, I've read that the spark plug crush washer has to be removed before installation.

But about the drool tube gaskets?
Do I have to replace them each time that I replace the spark plugs?

Usually, you don't have too.

But if it's drooling before or after you do............

I got a set of these from Rick and they are very nice. They are probably the last o rings I'll ever need.

Got mine from NAPA. I've got nothing to compare them to though, but they seal.

Tighten them and they will pull down into the head and seal. Removing the spark plug later wont disturb the tube.

For the rest of you coming to this thread looking for more details, the part number from the '74 parts manual is Chrysler 1947 708. I'll follow up with more matches.

Correct. Also review tune-up parts and technique suggestions in this post.

Not every single time, no, but when they've grown hard and/or begun to crack, then yes. See here.
