I recently changed my plugs in my LA 318, going with NGK GR4s. Before I bought, I was reading up about various opinions on plugs and I ran across threads that indicated that depending on year and spark plug tube design for a slant six, the need to leave the plug washers on or take them off changed.

Got curious and wondered if the 318s, especially with so many years of production, ever bounced back and forth about needing the washers? Any Mopar history buffs know if it happened where years A,B, and C need washers, then for D and E they didn't, but around Q they did again, etc.?

The LA & Magnum motors don't have drool tubes like the /6 motors. If you have the drool tubes on the /6, leave the washers off. Leave the washers on the plugs for your application.

Thanks Demonracer. Washers are on for me - I appreciate the confirmation

Just wondering out of curiosity if, in the evolution of the 318, there was ever a similar scenario.
