Speed Bleeders sizes

I have 74 Front Disc Brakes
and 72 Rear Drums and I want to swap out the bleeder screws from stock to Speed Bleeders.
I cannot find a good chart.

it would behoove you to check and verify seeing as different manufacturers and reman outfits all have their idea of what it should be.

I think they are Front, 3/8-24 UNF and Rear 5/16-24 UNF. I can check.

Buy a pressure bleeder and never deal with the absolute nonsense of speed bleeders.

The size of the bleeder has more to do with the manufacturer (or re-manufacturer) of the calipers/wheel cylinders than anything else. I've found metric bleeders on 73+ calipers.

Yeah dude, a novel idea but in reality, don't waste your time. Get a friend to help or a pressure bleeder as mentioned.

Yup. It was at least several brake swaps ago, I don't recall enough of the details to be 100% but I believe it was a remanufactured caliper. Probably had a stripped out bleeder and they just rethreaded it for metric because it was the next closest size. I know it was metric because bleeding the brakes took 3 different wrenches, one for the drums in the back and then two for the front disks, one standard and one metric. Pain in the ***.

But yeah, stranger things have happened. Just because something should be a certain size according to the book doesn't mean it actually is on the part sitting in the driveway.

I checked my original 73 Duster bleeders and they are indeed: front calipers 3/8-24; the rear wheel cylinder bleeders are 5/16-24.
