Hi can anybody tell me what is the difference between Speedmaster big block heads PCE281.2153 & PCE281.2140 ? I must be missing what is different in the listing besides the part number and a few dollars. Can either of these heads be direct bolt-ons, or do they take special intake manifolds, different rocker offsets etc.?
thanks, John

I didn't look up the part numbers, but I'd bet one is for roller and the other FT. I believe the rockers need to be .650 offset.

Pics look like intake side may be spaced up and require a special manifold, or an half inch cut off the mating surfaces? Anyone know from hands-on experience with these Speedmasters?

I believe they take a normal intake, but you need the "plate gasket", or drop plate (for lack of better words) to cover the valley.

One number is for a hydro roller, the other for a hydro flat tappet.
Speedmaster makes a edie rpm copy, and a victor copy. The victor copy uses big offset rockers. You will have to use the questionable quality speedmaster rockers, or....
Pony up for some outragiously expensive rockers from somebody else. Harland sharps for victors will cost MORE than the heads.
Edit: i think you can tell them apart by the ends of the head . Rpm copys are plain, the victor copys have a freeze plug. Do NOT hold me to this info, i said "i think". Lol

Hm... Ok thanks on the lifter diff, it was in the title and I was looking intently at the spec section, Duh.

Looks like all their current BB heads have the core plug in the end if you can trust their pics. The offset rockets may be an issue, I prefer to run old iron adjustables for their simplicity and ruggedness, so these may not be for me despite the super sale price.

I wouldnt go by the pictures, they might not be accurate. I would actually use a phone and call them. There might be a good price on the rpm copies too. I never buy anything on line if there is an alternative way, such as a real human on a phone.
