I put a 67 speedometer in my 68 barracuda and the cable I had was the plastic end that connected to speedometer and the one I put in looks bigger with threads. The cable I got looks like it would work but I t didnt come with any nut to secure it but the transmission end does. Is there some type if fastner im missing ?

Some cables are cut to fit. 67 cuda you need the screw on. should come with both ends.
Ebay , Rock auto , Napa . You can still find the correct 60" for a little more.

Buy a 67 model speedometer cable. It will have the collector nuts at both ends.

Finally figured out the cable was made wrong. .. Napa had eleven cables that were all wrong made with just one nut for the transmission end

They may have been listed wrong but they weren't made wrong. 1968 and later has a plastic clip at instrument end. This change made assembly faster. Another very late model cable will have the same clip along with a much larger nut at its trans end. Those weren't made wrong either.
