I purchased a front disc brake kit from wilwood. but I can't figure out why one of the bolts has threads only halfway and can't get it to tighten up to the lower ball joint assembly.

have you tried running the bolt from the other side? i do not know -- just a thought? Lawrence

What make and model lower ball joints are you trying to use?
73-76 A body lower ball joints use a bolt and self locking nut.
Lower ball joints from the F M J line of cars use just a shorter, full threaded bolt, that just treads into the lower ball joint.
Your probably not mating the proper bolts with the proper lower ball joint.

Ok, 69 A body.
But bolts don't thread into lower ball joints.
They use nuts and bolts.
DRUM brake lower ball joints have 1/2 inch diameter holes in them, and DISC brake lower ball joints have 9/16 inch holes in them.
Gets back to my original thought as too what lower ball joint you have, and what bolts your trying to use. :dontknow:

I forgot to measure it today but I had 10 inch drums and I used one of the stock bolts
