Has anyone here tried the spray on chrome that some body shops are doing?
I was wondering how it would do on bumpers. I just can't afford $600 to get my bumpers done right now. This may be a cheaper alternative providing the finish is durable and resembles true chrome.

No problem the braincell where that info was stored survived lol I was really thinking about trying it when and if I get FG bumpers.

All,

I've tried (lab evaluated) both the powder and the liquid versions. They both lacked any reasonable amount of durability.

I don't recommend either technology for bumpers, wheels, or any exterior trim.

A generous amount of clearcoat will add to the durability. It takes away from the luster though.

That was what I was wondering, how it would hold up in different conditions.

Guys'

I don't want to get into a contest here.

The ASTM tests that were run under strict control conditions, the application variables run on the test panels, the data that was generated, and the control technology that was used in the evaluation, the results showed both products rated well below acceptable levels.

In laymans terms they "performed as well as spray bomb paint" could manage.

FYI - the more clearcoat that was applied the results showed larger stone chips, the adhesion properties were compromised, and yes a "foggy appearance" was observed.
