Does anyone know how far can I move the springs inward before I have to mini tub the back, was wondering if the 3" mopar/mancini kit can be used without mini tubbing the back. Would like to use wider tires.

You can relocate the springs under the frame using Mopar/Mancini or building your own brackets without doing a mini tub. You could probably use a tire 1 1/2"- 2" wider. Be sure and check section width, not just tread width when looking for tires.

It can be done...But usually, the limiting factor is the tubs...mini tub and spring relocation go hand in hand....Like 2 peas in a pod...mashed potatoes and gravy....peanut butter and jelly....salt and pepper....lol...

I can run a tire with a 13 1/2" section width without cutting the fender lip. If you don't do a mini tub, then subtract at least 3" from that.

If you dont want to tub it then there is realy no reason to move the springs under the frame. What you need is the off set hanger kit they sell. That will let you use the whole fender well.

With the offsett kit you can fit a 26x10.50 rear tire. I will warn you the fit is TIGHT

what size is that compared to a 275/60x15 drag radial? if you mini tubbed with the offset will it allow more tire in there? or is the spring just to close still? the tire im wanting is 12" in total width on a 10" wheel. i measured 11.25 total before the offset from the spring to the lip. i think i can get another 1" by removing the quarter lip, but how much more does the offset give me? 7/8"?

My 72 duster has the springs relocated inward on the axle and I have 275/60/15 BFG drag radials and I have about 3"-4" between the back of the tire and the leaf spring.....not positive on the gap between tires and tubs....and I have about an inch and a half gap give or take between the tires and the wheel well lip.

Do not remover the 1/4 lip. Roll it. It is needed for strength. If you are going to mini tub and do the inboard kit, why not do the complete relocation kit. Virtualy the same amount of work.

no welding and i dont want to if i dont have to. id prefer the bolt on method for now.

mines a 67 dart. isnt it a smaller well then your duster? also what size rim are you running? mines going to sit as low as i can get it to without smacking the driveshaft tunnel or look goofy compared to the front ends

as far as I know yes the dusters have more room.....as for my wheels I Think my rears are 15x9 or 10 (not positive off hand but I know they are wide) and the fronts are 14x6

A 275 is around 10.82 inch wide. Thats about as big as I have herd any one get in to a Dart with out tubing and you need to use the offset spring kit. With a tire that size there is no reason to run more than a 8" wide wheel with just the right off set and mabby roll the fender lip.

If you want a bigger tire and rim than that you will need to mini tub it an use the inboard spring kit.

Hope this isn't too much off topic, but if you move the springs what do you do about the shocks? Do you still use the regular mounting box things that go on the springs or do you need to make separate shock tabs on the axle? I assume just an offset kit wouldn't need them, but I would think moving them all the way into the frame would be interesting. At the very least I would think you would need shorter shocks because of the geometry, but anyone have real numbers?

Offset hangers require welding. You need to reweld the pads on ther rear housing.
im having a strange 9" built for it so i have to have this straitened out first before the ends and stuff get welded on.

my 8" wheels will be here thursday and tires im going to get just for mock up to get rearend measurements accurate to get it welded up. im just trying to get it all in order before i do anything expensive.

Nothing needs to be done with the shocks.
