I am going to buy a set of SS springs for my 69 and this may be a dumb question but should I go with the 3000 lb or 3300 lb springs? I am guessing the 3300 lb since that will be closer to what the car weighs with me in it. Thanks for the help.

I was curious how this works also. I see 2800 and 3200 etc... for a A-body. I have a 67 Barracuda. What SS spring goes for that? What would swingerman use on his 69? Is it all personal preference? I assume the pound-age difference goes along with spring stiffness? Thanks.

call up Mopar performance and talk to their tech. They are very knowledgable, not like summit. I got 3412002 and 3412003 on my 71 duster

How many leafs are on the 002,003 springs? Just curious, thanks!

Hi and Hello,
New member here to the A body crowd (longtime B body guy). I have been doing my homework and seeing some really great stuff. I just got my SS springs from my local mopar guy. I ordered the 002 and 003 springs. This seems to be the set for most street driven A bodies. Even Mopar Action's "Green Brick" uses these springs (de-arced 2 inches). I am going to install these after I get the car back from Energy Suspension. (Strut rod bushing R&D). The car is a bone stock '69 Valiant with a /6. My Roadrunner is getting jealous of the attention it is getting, but I have to get it up to snuff.
Any excuse will do......

I just purchased a set of the 2800 LB springs for my 64 Valiant. I've only used S/S springs on my B-body race cars in the past. I feel the car weight will likely be around the 3000 LB (+/-) but the rear is pretty light and ride height is my big issue. Seems there may be a difference between the Mexican built units and the old Canadian ones I'm used to, on ride height. I can let you know how these turn out later this week in case the 2800 LB ones may be an option for you.
Good Luck!

You may want to take your car to a weigh station and see what it actually weighs with you and gas in it, because you can`t count on the title being actual weight. Also with the quest to shed weight, many of us have removed parts and changed others to aluminum or fiberglass so an accurate weight is an essential part of getting the correct spring. My 38 year old springs on my 68 Formula -S are still riding high, one of the few things that have stood the test of time on that car.
