Hey Sid from Fort Mac. are ya ready for another winter of fun frivolity. Where ya working up there Sid? I know my way around the place a little after spending some time up there a couple years ago.

Yea I spend from Jan 2006 to Aug 2006 at the Long lake project installing a couple huge air compressors for Air Liquide. Stayed at that suite hotel beside Montana's 10 days in 4 days out. I swore I would never go back. North Alta. in the winter really sucks.

There is no stall speed chart for just converters. The stall speed of a given converter, is a function of input torque from the engine. If you notice on the posted chart, the 198 slant six and the 225 slant six have different stall speeds, but use the same converter. My 9 1/2 inch race converter stalls about 3,200 rpm behind my 170 motor, and almost 4,000 behind my 225 motor.

So were all the 727 convertors the same or differant for small and big blocks, there is a 68 383 at the local yard and I can get the convertor cheap drive train has low miles would it be worth it to re weight it for my 360?in a 4000lbs truck with a 360horse motor and 3:31'sflex plate pattern should be same?

Personally I'd never use an old converter that I couldn't vouch for. You can't tell what it's been through or even if everythings still together inside.
