i have a 340 with hi performance exhaust manifolds and TTI 2 1/2" exhaust pipes, my starter connection cables look to be so close to the exhaust i can't make the connection. whats the remedy for this, i'm not sure.need help!

the cable is not the issue,its the starter and stater connection that is so close to the exhaust pipe. mainly the location of the connection on the starter. are all connection terminals on the starter in the same spot or are some different.
If it's the stock starter, I'd replace it with a high torque starter. They are smaller. You can get them at Jegs, Summit, etc. Some guys on this site use Dodge Durango starters. Don't remember where the post is though.

I,m putting headers on my 66 Dart(early A)with a 360 and manual steering.I went to the scrapyard and pulled a mini-starter out of a 318 Dakota.I paid $40 for a new starter(used).Hope this helps!
