What ratio manual steering box did my 1969 383 formula-s come with from the factory?

Standard manual steering ratio was 26:1, almost 6 turns lock-to-lock. This is what I have on my 67 Barracuda.

Fast ration 16:1 was an option from 65-69, but it's very rare, and I particularly doubt it was supplied on big block cars, as it would make the steering effort enormous.

Never say never with MOPAR!

I have an original big block 69 Formula-S that came with quick ratio steering!
I don't think the steering effort is all that difficult.

The 20 to 1 was also available, again hard to come by.

Maybe BB-Dave will chime in on this.

All I have read was 16:1 was an option but not recommended on BB cars.

What ratio is it 20:1 or 16:1 ?:coffee2:

If it's factory, it's 16:1.

I haven't taken it apart to determine the ratio. But if memory serves me right, standard ratio is 5 turns lock to lock, and mine is around 3.5 turns lock to lock.
