On the lock wheel there is a little tin coller, pry that off and you will see a pin that holds the lock wheel to the shaft. Drive the pin out, pull the lock wheel off the shaft and then the shaft will slide out of the bottom of the column.

:thumblef: will give it a try

That ceoss pin is tapered so it will drive in/out only one way.

Is it the new standard to body color your column and other interior parts?
Sorry to interrupt. The parts look great!

.

I'm changing the interior color from blue to red...... I was influenced at the Mopar National buy 2 cars........

I sincerly hope you dont regret this color change later. It has happened.
Good luck

LOL, I won't regret it. I am wondering why you say that? Did you change something on your car that you regret?

No. I'm placing the 67 metallic red in my 67 vert mainly because that's the proper color for fish guts LOL At least it isn't a bright red.
Some will say they love their bright color interior. Everyone is different.

Here's the thing though... Resturants like Hardies, McDonalds, were once decorated with bright oranges and yellows to affect the subconcious. Customers would get unconfortable and leave faster. That isn't nessesary today since there are so many resturants and so much of their business is drive-thru.
How the color of our surrounding effects our minds is applied to schools, hospitals, casinos, and so on.
Some people who bought mod interior mopars back in the day found they couldn't stand to stay in the car more than a couple hours at a time.

The most outstanding example of this is my family doctors facility. The small examination rooms have 3 walls covered in a neutral hue wall paper. The 4th wall behind the exam table is covered 1 inch wide vertical stripes of purples and reds. The doctor sees the patient in a totally differnt light than the patient sees the doctor.

I thought reds, oranges, and yellows were used in fast-food signs because they subconciously trigger hunger mechanisms in the brain, and the interiors match the signs colors for continuity.

To keep this post relevant, good luck with the steering shaft removal! I like the idea of matching the metal interior parts to the car, though I'm keeping a low-profile look with mine so they are all getting painted semi-flat black.
