Will a steering column from a later A body fit an early A body with manual steering and floor shift?

Never tried but they look quite a bit different including the mount.

if you use a manual column to a manula steering it wil fit lenght wise,,or if you use a power column to power steering,,the inner shats in the columns are of different lengths,, but you can get an adapter to make the power column shaft longer to use a manual box,,,

if the newer column has mounting brackets attached just cut them off and use the orignal cars column bracket,,,

we swapped a 1987 new yorker column with tilt to a 1973 scamp,,it fit like a glove,,also you will will use the orignal columns floor plate,unless the newer column has the same bolt pattern as the car your installing it on too,,
