Hey guys, Is there a difference in the 73-76 steering center link, compared to the 67-72? I swicthed to disc brakes and know the passenger side is hitting the oil pan. I know the pitman and idler are diff. What about the linkage? thanks 440, a body, fenderwall headers.

yes, there is a difference. do a search -- I think there are some pictures to assist also, Lawrence

The pitman arm goes in from the bottom on the 72 back and from the top on the 73 up so the hole tapers are different for one thing.

Seriously what Lawrence said is the best teacher because there are threads that have both of them pictured together with the differences listed in the thread.

Thanks: I guess ill be swicthing over to the newer style for a little more room. I think someone mounted the 440 a little low in this hot rod. It has the front mount with some homemade tabs welded in on the rails.

You will be unlikely to find a pitman arm for the late link that fits the steering gear that you have...
