Does anybody know the correct length of a 73 Duster Steering Shaft. I have mine disassembled. I can see the plastic shear pins but I suspect that it is collapsed. It's current measurement is 38 1/4 inches and from what I have seen on a post on the net they are supposed to be 41 inches. Can anyone confirm this. It has power steering.

Manual steering shaft is ~40-5/8"

Power steering shaft is ~37.5"

Those are end to end measurements without the couplers attached. Keep in mind the coupler slides back and forth as well.

38 1/4" is about right for a power steering shaft if the coupler is in the shortened position. If it's not then the steering shaft may be partially collapsed.

I pulled it out to correct position and got 37 3/4" so yes it was partially collapsed. Thanks for your help.
