My wife's youngest son accomplished something today he'll remember for the rest of his life...his first free-climb of El Capitan in Yosemite.
For those of you who have never been to Yosemite, 'El Cap' is one of the premiere climbs in the world. It's a 3000' vertical face of granite.
Sure, it's climbed many times during the year and there are different routes to get to the top. But it takes a special type of person to even want to attempt the climb. I know I wouldn't want to, but then again I don't see the sense in jumping out of perfectly good airplanes either!
We're both very proud of him, his accomplishment, and that he's safely back down on the ground in the valley.

That's great! Glad he's safe. Proud parents you are. Like yourself, I never understood wanting to jump out of that perfectly good airplane or climbing straight up the side of a very very large rock!!!!
