Stock 340 breather

Trying to decide if I put the stock 69 340 breather back on my car or go to a basic chrome breather with a K&N filter:scratch:
I like the stock look but man they seem so restrictive! Car is not a perfect concourse car; just a clean driver.

What say you??
 
Use the stock 340 air breather but use the ‘68 383 K&N air filter element instead. It‘s the same diameter as the 340 one but 3/4 of an inch taller opening the gap more between the aircleaner base and top for more air entry.

That sounds like a great idea! Don't happen to have a part # do you??
 
K&N E-1540 - 3.5 inches high

K&N E-1530 - 2.75 inches high

I've been using the E-1540 on my '69 Dart 340 with factory air cleaner for about 5 years with no clearance issues with the hood.

Excellent info scatpackbee! Much appreciated! One last question......what are you running for an intake?? I am running a Performer RPM.
