The jugs stick out above the block .018 so there aren't any interference issues with a modified J head then, since same casting?
Her jugs stick out farther than .018" and she doesn't complain about them hitting the combustion chamber....

Like I said, the head gasket is thicker than the pistons stick up above the block...
I would be more worried about piston to valve clearance than hitting the combustion chamber with the piston...
I think her name is Emerson.
Emerson nice ones!
That is what I'm worried about, valves. Wondered if valve position in the modified J head would put the valve too close to a high compression block piston. Sounds like it should be ok, I need the open chamber I think.
All right I'm wearing out my roller wheel on my mouse, (don't touch that Karl).
Huh???
I can read that!
Dry fit the head with a used gasket, put a little playdough to get an imprint and check your piston to valve clearance. That is what I'm worried about, valves. Vandenberg AFB ground, a remote unoccupied area. The flat lands there is a creek bed, just upstream from there are peat bogs. A few years ago those peat bogs were ignited by another fire and burned for months.

Well....I guess its back to working on the brakes for this 94 C1500 rears are done. knock the front out today. Don't want to work as hard as Frank @Tooljunkie . Also, the red under vehicle light bars came today...
How do you not remember exactly what year it was if you bought parts for it??Worst car I ever worked on was a 96ish Buick Regal. Had to take half the car apart to change a valve cover gasket.
