Stop in for a cup of coffee

I'm going to do an experiment today. I'm making some retainer straps to catch the doors on a hot rod from flying off when the wind catches them. Using some recycled/junk yard seat belt material. Want it to look presentable so I am going to try a soldering iron to make the holes for the screws and the cuts to keep them from fraying.
A brass eyelet may be a nice addition too.

Do these sound similar to long tube headers?

Never heard them that I know of. Steering shaft only about an inch away from the cast iron manifold. Of course other side has all kind of room

The Ranchero got Caslers, don't remember what variety the BB F100 got. Probly whatever brand Super Shops had on sale  Easiest install I ever did. Didn't even have to roll around on the ground until it was collector and muffler time  Swinger got Hookers. Would have been nice if the instructions would have included a little something about the drag link having to go through the tubes on driver side

I love the smell of Mopar gear oil in the Morning..( Think Apocalypse Now ). Walk into the shop this morning and that's all I smell. Mopar gear oil. Going to try and blast the backing plates and rebuild the wheel cylinders today. I also tightened up my blast cabinet with a new set of gloves and some new media.

I prefer glass bead. Satin finish and it flows better than anything else i gave tried. I upgraded the blast gun when i first got it.

Yeah, prefer glass also, and I bought a bunch to put through my pot blaster, outside. Still had 2 bags of that Tractor Supply Slag leftover. Runs ok in the blast cabinet, but needs to be strained down to put through the pot gun. Otherwise cloggs it up. I wont buy more of that TS Crap....

Not sure if I got the right seal figured out but if it's the one for the door window that fallows down the track to hold and seal the glass as you roll it up and down. (if that makes sense)
Yea you can just roll the window down and stuff that felt molding down as far as you can on the track then hold it and roll the window up some and push down on the molding as you roll the window down. Few times like that and it should work.
Done that it works. I think i needed to grab the strip with pliers,as it was a difficult push. Could pull door panel and work it in that way too

How did they fit? Did you have any clearance issues? I know they hang lower than TTI or Dougs but I just don't want to cough up the coin for them. Also I have PS.
The drag link issue on driver side. Have that ball joint splitter ready to go  Passenger side, oil filter clearance. The 90° adapter didn't help. The short oil filter fit real nice where the long OE filter was too long, i fergit the number of filter to use. Just a shorter version of OE. I planned on doing the Purple Horny thing

Morning!
Looks like a hot day on the horizon. And i will be chasing the horizon for 7 or 8 hours today.
Hoping to meet up with a fellow in Swift Current today. Drives a big red truck that has a Canadian flag on it. Could be an interesting day.

Well Jodi ran over some hardware on highway four hours from home on way to Elderberry conference. Many moons ago I got rid of the toy tire and the little gay compressor and put a full size spare in the trunk with a low profile hyd floor Jack complete with impact gun sockets and extension plus ratchet and breaker bar. She cussed the room the full size spare and Jack took up everytime she needed the trunk. It is a Challenger, you could fit four dead bodies in the trunk it is so big. Well she ain’t cussing me now as she does a NASCAR tire change on side of the road. Chivalry is dead, she is in woman business clothes laying on ground putting jack in position and nary a soul has stopped to help. Just outside of Springfield Missouri.

Nobody stops any more. I have one of those air bag jacks and my portable compressor and an adapter. 35 psi and tire is off the ground. Its easier to manage than a floor jack.

The last lady i helped on the side of the road, about 50 miles of gravel, she must have been 75 years old. Alone in the middle of nowhere. Determined to replace it on her own. I was working for parks branch, and we were instructed to never do the pull over and assist thing. Radio for a towtruck. Nope, i disagree with that rule. I always made sure i had gas and diesel as well.
