Rusty's guide?

 Funny memory here. When I was workin' at the rock farm up north from here the winters were a lot different than here. I was runnin' a skip loader up there, had a cab on it but no heater. Windshield frost up overnight, inside and out. I kept a can of starter fluid behind the seat. 1 squirt into the air cleaner box, hit the starter switch, turn the can upside down and use the bottom of the can to scrape the frost off the windshield

Yup. I kept an ice scraper hanging from the rear view of my 42 Jeep to scrape the inside of the windows

I have a Commando style air cleaner... but was looking at the stock one trying to see how I might modify it. They're upside down from modern ones with just the pie tin and the carb clamp.

If my welding didn't suck so much, I might try something
I cut the bottom out of 2 bbl and welded in a 4 bbl bottom from a cheap aftermarket for my Scout. Worked perfectly..

So, it was cool to be off the Wi-Fi grid and out in Indian country for a few days, where you get no reception for anything. But equally happy to have it back. Here are some pics from our trip to the UNESCO World recognized area of Bai Tu Long Bay.

Is that a fur hat and overcoat?
Are you wearing a jacket??

:poke:

I went back on Ibuprofen. My elbow has been killing me. Tendonitis, or tennis elbow or what ever. If you bend it wrong it feels like it got hit with a hammer. My Chiro asked what the pain level was. I told her 12.
I take muscle relaxers for my problem.

I have the twin post, gasket kit and a template along with the Nutsert set .. I'm just hesitant to make holes in the door
I was disappointed in the twin post. It is quite small. Just guessing that it is a 4 1/2" and the regular mirrors are 5". Ya, a half inch isn't much. (that's what she said) I've got plenty of holes. (in my drivers door) LMAO

I should put mirrors on my 64. It doesn’t even have drivers side
Oh really, so it didn't have a required drivers side mirror? That's strange

that was my thinking, didn't want to put holes in my door, but safety and knowing I almost hit a wheel barrel backing out on the passenger side helped make my decision, after paint I don't want that to happen, so I figured I need the holes before I paint.

My car is low mileage and almost all original and I like it that way. But hard to turn my neck back like I used to
I honestly never seen one with out at least a drivers side rear view mirror..hmm

Blood thinners and ibuprophen are a bad mix, ibuprophen is an anti-coagulent. I could end up in a really bad situation if i cut myself.
