Hey this make sense? So easy even a Ford guy can do it?
Installation of HEI on Mopar slant six distributor
OK here we go. This plate is designed to mount in the existing drain hole on Mopar Slant Six electronic distributors.
Tun unit upside down and locate the drain hole and tap it to 10/32 I recomened oil on the tap if the distributor is not disassembled to grap anny chips. I also recommened drilling a second drain hole on the other side.
Ensure the plate mounting surface is flat. Sometimes there is casting flash that can easily be removed. This Ensures heat transfer to the case.
Mount plate with provided screw with a dab of Loctite. Mount a GM 4 pin ignition Module to the plate ensure the included heat transfer paste is applied to the metal plate on the module. Also mount the ground wire to one of the 6/32 mounting screws that will mount on the holdown bolt when installed to ensure a 100% ground.
Install wire plug for the coil and the plug on the pickup assembly as marked.
Easy to wire. If a ballast resistor is installed jump, it to ensure the module gets a true 12VDC. Modification of the wiring will be needed if installed on a non-point system. Run the two wires to the coil which must be around .3 ohms. I recommend the Petronix III coil since it fits into the stock coil bracket. Red wire to the positive terminal. Black to the negative terminal.
Install distributor. Ensure ground wire is on the bolt to the block that holds the adjusting clamp on.
Set timing. Run it read the plugs, the gap will probably have to be opened to .045”
Have fun now you are done!
