Mercury was fun to play with in grammar school!
Later 30s early 40s I think ran in to some on service calls the switch’s would out last the cloth wireI had some old light switches that used mercury, pretty cool and would last a long time I bet.
I remember doing that and it was fun.Mercury was fun to play with in grammar school!
I live in a single wide mobile home and can't believe the crappy light switches they installed. I've had to replace 3 in the last 10 years.Later 30s early 40s I think ran in to some on service calls the switch’s would out last the cloth wire
They're still stocking-up and getting fat and happy at our place, but any day now we're expecting them to be gone.
All 4 houses I've owned I've replaced every switch and outlet. I can't believe the utter crap that passes UL or ETL (or whomever's) testing, and I just don't trust the cheap ones.I live in a single wide mobile home and can't believe the crappy light switches they installed. I have a 100 amp service in my garage and in the winter I have to shut the electric heater off to run the compressor just so I don't overload the system. I wired my garage by myself and I did it right but still not going to press my luck.I need to upgrade my panel. It's maxed out the breaker slots and my garage circuit will trip if I have the compressor running or am using the welder and anything else turns on
I've been toying with the idea of s whole house backup generator... but I'll need to upgrade the panel first and maybe get the switch box added then. That would allow for me to break up the costHell I have 60 amp it sucks, House is 100 amp.
Screws only a lot of the 20 amp outlet don’t have the back stab in them you have to use the screwsAnd no back-stabbing.

Amperage to my garage is limited to the power cable. Maxed at 80 amps. Think i will upgrade it. Im heating shop and my office, if im using a lot of air, i need to make sure im not using hoist or welding while compressor is running. I usually try and get to places for service about 30 minutes after opening... just to let the folks at the location to get their crap together.Been a long day.. i wish people would bring in **** earlier, i'm here at 6am.. people wait til 2pm to bring in stuff.. so now i'm swamped before i leave for the day.. which is fine, but would rather be caught up![]()

I like the Spanish business schedule with mid- day closures and tardes hours
