I have a 340 in my 68 Barracuda...

I seem to have it running strong... no pinging or bogging and lots of fun to drive...

But when I am taking it easy and just driving around, there is a rattle at 1900-2400 rpms....

I am not sure where it is coming from, the motor pulls good, and makes no noise at idle or when I step on it....

Is this normal, or anyone have any suggestions or comments?

Thanks!

Can you give us more info on the car and a general area from which the rattle`s coming from? Does it have exhaust manifolds or headers? The heat riser valve would rattle on some cars with manifolds.

Loose or cracked fan blade is ome. Bushing missing from floor shifter drop rod support is one. Only 484734635 to go. LOL
You'll probably need to get it up on a lift. Good hunting.

Is it a noise like something is hitting fan blades? mine does this also, cant figure out what it is. Car runs normal though.

sorry...the car is a four speed, with headmen headers....

It sounds like it is coming from the drivers side somewhere....i have checked almost every nut or bolt on that side to make sure its tight...

Its hard to figure out because it only does it at a certain RPM...

the motor is newly re done with about 250 miles on it....So it had me worrying it was something in there..
