Just wondering if anyone rides street bikes here?
I've been ridden bikes for as long as I can remember. I've had both dirt and street, currently have a '06 WR450F, also for sale to buy a new 2009 GSX-R 750.
Can't wait to ride even though it may not happen this year due to winter will most likely be here when the bike arrives, but I'll make room in my garage for it until summer. No photos of it yet, but I will later. Post any bike you have or had and drop some info.

Eagle River: Been awhile since i was there. I worked for the Alaska Railroad up and down the railbelt for about 4 yrs then i headed for the slope and did 13 yrs with VECO Int. as a contract rep. My alternate lived in Eagle River and his name was Walt Huffman. That was a fun experience in my life and yes i do ride bikes. Started many years ago in So. Calif. on a 250 Suzuki Savage 250. Bought it and headed home almost getting killed twice and getting one ticket. Upon arriving home i striped it down for the dirt. I raced motocross on a Bultaco Pursang and a 400 radial finned Maico. Bad ***. Did a bunch in the Mojave desert to boot then i moved back home to Mo. and didn't ride for many many years then my now x brother in law wanted me to get a bike and ride with em. We looked at a big 1500 Suzuki LC Intruder but settled on an 83 1100 Glodwing and was glad i did. I then bought a 1000 Wing standard and road it awhile and then bought a 1500 Wing which i now ride along with my newly won Honda VTX 1300r. I just put a windshield on it a few minutes ago. Yep, We ride street bikes. I put the wife and son through the MSF course and i took it with em. Highly recommended for all who are going to ride and all who have riddin forever. All passed and then we headed to Greenville, South Carolina to the Intenational Wing Ding. My 17 yr old son rode the 83 1100 and he got awards for being the youngest Wing rider out of 11000 bikes. He and i were pumped. We also pull a trailer when we're going to be out awhile. Our longest day was 807 miles from Carlisle to Paduka, Ky. for the wife and i. MeMike is sending me a disc so i can resize pics and then i'll try the post of pics of the Wing and newly won VTX. Love that Alaska.

Mark, I can't stand the riding position of the sport bikes. I'm into a cruisers riding position. To each there own of course and without reprise from me.

On my 1200ccc H/D Sportster, I can get 50 mpg's while riding upright. That's what I like. Good mileage, up right position. Very comfy. Can ride for hours in a clip. (The tour seat is a golden unit for that! )

Small Block, sounds like good times here and there! Ever heard of a guy named *Rail Road Bob* up here? He's into mopars, last I heard he had a '69 AMX w/a blower stickin' through the hood. Hes an older guy, mid 50's I'm guessing. Alaska is a great place, summer time, but winters are, well there for people that like lots of snow and long cold winters, we'll be moving again sometime next 2 years or so thank good ness.
I looked at a lot of different bikes before deciding to buy a GSX-R. I had one years ago and sense the wife agreed, why not! I think she took a bigger life insurance pollicy out on me, ha...
