I have Carter 4294S, light rebuild done during last winter.
I have also new eddy 500cfm on my garage.

Standard size engine, comp cam CL20-221-3 (Dura 256/268, lift.447/.445).
Original heads.
Original 4 bbl intake.
Flowtech headers.

Whew! That's a tuffy. The 500, is that an AFB or AVS model Edelbrock?
IF it is a AFB model, I would not use it.
IF it were an AVS model, I would try it and compare it to the OE carb.
Otherwise......

The 4294 is listed to be a 400 cfm carb. That would work very well even though it lacks a secondary velocity valve. If the carb is in good shape, would certainly run it.

Thanks for your comment. This 400cfm Carter is pretty close what I might need.
I guess it is original, like all the others has been...I am happy Barracuda owner.
Carter is working fine after cleaning , adjustment, seal, acc pump, spring change etc.

I will not install Edelbrock I'm gonna sell it.
