street rod headers

will street rod shorty headers give me more clearance around the stearing shaft and box???? anyone try this before?

On a 68? What is the point of a shorty header
(side of block dump)?

oops. sorry, it is a 72 swinger, 318 auto PS PB. have a clearance problem with the shaft and have a large dent in the header tube to allow room and its is still very tight fit. wondering is the street rod headers drop down in another spot or hug the block better. tks
