I have torn down the front end of my 1965 Dodge Dart to replace the upper control arm and the lower control arm bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends. Was going to change the strut rod bushings, but it looks like they are one piece, not two piece. Can someone tell me what to do!! Do I try to find one piece bushings or do I use two piece? If I need to use the one piece bushing, where can I get them. Have ordered Moog two piece bushings.
Also, how do I get them out? If I use the two piece one is there a bushing
that goes throuh the hole in the K-member for the strut rod to pass through to prevent it from rubbing on the K-member?

In my '75 Dart, I was told that 2 piece polyuratane (spelling?) units from someone like Energy Suspensions was the way to go. 2 piece for easier installation and poly for long life and durability.

1 piece is a factory bushing, aftermarket is a 2 piece design--- 2 piece is very easy to install.
as for get out the old ones twist/burn /cuss-- they will come out.
not going to get into the poly vs rubber debate/

if you can install the lower control arm bushing thenm the rest is a piece of cake, Lawrence

Thanks for everyones help. Will just stay with the two piece rubber bushings. Tear down has gone good even thought this is my first attempt at doing this. Could not get lower ball joint to break away from the lower control arm, so going to have machine shop take it out.

To get the one piece bushings out just cut them with a hacksaw and they'll come right out. I've always replaced them with the 2 piece Moog units.
