From my '65 Formula S today: driver side-one rubber/silicone spark plug wire end; passenger side-very rusty 1/2" twelve point socket 3/8" drive (not to mention the insect "nests"' one made from "mud" and another made with a featherlight type "wax".

No money?
That would make a good thread. What is the craziest stuff you have ever found disassembling a car?

You should see what they find in Laredo texas inside the fenders and doors.

I found a new, never installed "Custom" emblem in a dash of a '72 Dart at the Salvage yard last year. Does that count as NOS?

When I bought my 69 GTS 383 4-speed in 1978 there was always a rattle in the drivers fender that I couldn't cure. When starting the restoration I fount a Pabst can behind the splash shield. It was crushed a bit but not enough to fit in between the fender and hood hinge/spring! I also found a cigarette butt in the oil pan, but an oil jockey could have put that in through the drain plug hole. My car also came with a GT SPORT stripe on one side and DART SWINGER on the other.

Always look in the vent boxes. I have found a substantial amount of money. And A large plastic bag of green buds. The first place I search when I buy a car is under the back seat. You find all kinds of presents there.

Found a 1" steel ball in a 1/4 panel, been rolling from the rear wheel to the front door for years. Some *** on the assembly line probably through it in there. I'm sure it drove the original owner nuts.

Found a mid 70s Schaeffer ball-point pen with one of my clients business name on it stuffed up in the headliner above the drivers seat.
I called him and he remembered when he gave out those pens... He owns a promotional gadgets company....

Found an envelope with over 300 cash in a junkyard
in Bergenfield NJ in 1975. It was a bank envelope
from a cashed paycheck it was under the drivers seat.
That was a lot of beer money back then

Probably crashed on the way to the bar from the bank, poor guy lost his car, his paycheck and never got a beer!

Back in early 2006, after having owned my van for about 1-1/2 years, a buddy was riding shotgun one day and asked me what the lid thing in the top middle of the dash was. Told him it was an ashtray, he flips up the lid and peered up over to get a look down into the tray, dug around in there and up comes two very old roaches, each about an inch long!! I was like "WTF!! I didn't know they were in there, they aren't from me"!! He proceeds to light one up and says "oh it's weed....old weed, but it's weed" I was like dude, wtf are you doing!!! He smoked both.... All I could think about is how lucky I was for never getting stopped by a leo, during that year and a half, and that he was nuts! :realcrazy:

Not while disassembling but......in the 70s my body shop did warranty work for the local AMC dealer. A customer had a car that made a "thumping banging noise" at most stops and some turns. It turned out that a one inch nut was hung from a shoelace in the panel under the left rear window. Someone must have been bored or mad on the assembly line the day that car was assembled!

I like crawling under cars and putting a few zip ties around the driveshaft
