Summit /6-V8 Conversion kit?

I used them on my 71 Scamp, Slant 6 to 340. They work great and are a 1/3 of the price as the others. You will need new hardware though. The bolt they send with it are to short.

NO. 67-72 only.

Now, the ones I need are for a 73, on Summits site it says "67-72" (of course). So I called the manufacture to see if they had different ones for 73 and they said "according to the computer", it should fit through 74 Duster!

So who do I go by here?

They wont work on your Duster unless you swap to the earlier K frame. Your car uses the spool mounts,.

So their computer lies! I'll just have to save for Schumachers then (unless someone else has an idea other then welding). I sent Schumacher an e-mail to see if they'd be interested in a group rate. I figured I'd at least ask.

You don't need to change out the K frame. This kit will work just fine for you. You should upgrade some of the other parts too though. Like the T bars and brakes.

I have the mounts.... They are awesome.

I think why people USED to swap the K-frames is because no one made the mounts, and because it had the larger bolt pattern on the wheels, usually converted from drum to disc, and the bigger torsion bars. Today, you can buy all those pieces......

If a couple well respected members say it's good that's good enough for me. I was going to at some point get the Schumacher ones but at that price I was in no hurry. I saw this and figured why not? :cheers:
