SUNROOF RATTLE ISSUES

Hey guys, I'm officially out of my comfort zone. It is in (or was) my 73 Dart Sport 340 4 spd. I know sunroof parts are hard to find (impossible). Fortunately mine works pretty good, except it doesnt like to rise when fully closing, I have to help it. I had a rattle that I couldn't take anymore and traced it to the rear of the sunroof rails. The rear of the rails appear to float between the roof and the pan that houses the sunroof. Does anybody have any info on this? I have considered fastening the rails to the pan with small screws and lock nuts. I do plan on some maintenance while its out to keep it working. Just seems odd they would just float there.

Found this video. Maybe you could contact the poster to see what they did to repair the sunroof on their '73 Dart Sport 340.

@davescuda is the resident sunroof guru. I reproduce the cable carrier and the gear if that is needed, but it doesn't sound like it

Look at the underside of sunroof and look where the cables attach, that where you get the rise up to close the sunroof.

I see the ramps on the slides that it climbs when almost closed. Right side looks turned a bit. Ill look closer after work.
